The tweet said it best.

There were for sure some other bright spots, like Luke Combs winning his first Entertainer of the Year and performing his new song “Doin’ This” and Carly Pearce getting the nod for Female Vocalist of the Year, but Chris Stapleton is just in a league of his own.

He, his album Starting Over, and its title track won almost every award of the night, including Single of the Year, Song of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year.

And just for a cherry on top, Chris gave a quick statement in support of albums, which are not nearly as popular in the mainstream as they used to be, but important for the integrity of the genre.

For his performance, he dug into the album cuts and brought out the super underratedĀ “Cold,”Ā not only blowing the vocals outta the park but pulling out a slick guitar solo just to show off.

He later joined Jennifer Hudson for a show-stopping duet of Willie Nelson’s ā€œNight Life,ā€ as well as, ā€œYou Are My Sunshine.ā€

There’s not a more deserving guy on the planet.

Hats off to you, Mr. Chris Stapleton.
