Glen Campbell Releases Live Cover Of Green Day’s “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)” At The Troubadour

Glen Campbell and Green Day… where has this been hiding all my life?

Aside from country music, punk rock is the other genre that has primarily shaped my musical childhood. And I might date myself a bit here, but I remember being in second or third grade and renting CDs from the local public library.

Bands like Oasis, Third Eye Blind, Everclear… but one of my favorites was Nimrod, the 1997 studio record by a band named Green Day.

Featuring hits like “Hitchin’ A Ride,” “Nice Guys Finish Last,” and more, it also featured what became the biggest hit of their entire career… “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life).

And the late, great country music legend Glen Campbell of all people, just released a cover of it.

His recently released Live From The Troubadour album was recorded from his final set at the iconic Troubadour in Hollywood, California.

Featuring a number of his classics like “Wichita Lineman,” “Rhinestone Cowboy,” and more, the new album also features this incredible Green Day cover, as well as covers of Foo Fighters, Tom Petty, Lou Reed and more.

It might just be the nostalgia, but I absolutely love it.
