Wade Bowen Drops Surprise EP – ‘The Waiting’

Quite a few releases out today with new projects from Hardy, Tennessee Jet, Lauren Alaina, Hayes Carll and more, but this Wade Bowen EP caught everybody off guard.

“I’ve spent the last few months trying to do something good with all this time and uncertainty. I’ve been listening to a lot of music, writing a lot of music, and recording a lot of music, and this EP is the culmination of some of that. Just trying to have some fun. And my band did a great job with it. It features some of my old songs from live albums that had never been recorded in the studio, a cover of my favorite Phil Collins song, and a brand new one I wrote a while back with my buddy Brent Cobb.”

Finally recording “Who I Am,” along with some other live-show favorites including Phil Collins’ “I Wish It Would Rain Down,” Wade made the most of his time in quarantine. Although, according to Wade, it wasn’t exactly easy:

Recording this project during the pandemic was both a fun and frustrating experience. I usually am in the room while every part of my record is being played but due to circumstances beyond my control that wasnt possible. So giving up that control was a little nerve-racking.”
