This past Sunday, NASCAR driver Kyle Larson was heard using a racial slur during an iRacing livestream event with other professional drivers.

By Monday morning he was suspended by both NASCAR and his team Chip Ganassi racing, and then by Tuesday morning, he was fired.

Given how hard NASCAR has worked over the years to shed the “redneck and racist” stereotype that (ignorant) people tend to put on the organization and its fans, this may very well be the end of Larson’s career with NASCAR.

However since the incident this past Sunday, fans across the sport have been awaiting the response from one driver… Bubba Wallace. Why? Because he’s the only African-American driver in NASCAR.

Wallace delivered the following response, where he condemned the use of the world, but also called Larson’s apology “sincere” and said that he deserves a second chance.

Kyle issued the following public apology shortly after the incident.
