Sturgill Simpson Contributes Song, Stars In New Zombie Movie With Selena Gomez & Bill Murray, ‘The Dead Don’t Die’

It’s apparently more acting for Sturgill Simpson.

A new comedic zombie flick from Jim Jarmusch, The Dead Don’t Die, made its world premiere opening the Cannes Film Festival yesterday. The film features an all-star cast of Adam Driver, Bill Murray, Selena Gomez, Chloë Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Austin Butler, RZA, Tilda Swinton, Tom Waits, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Rosie Perez, Carol Kane, and more, along with country music’s own Sturgill Simpson, who also penned a song for the film of the same name.

In this short clip that just aired, we see Selena Gomez’s character and some friends making a pit stop at a little store. Selena picks up Sturgill’s The Dead Don’t Die CD, a song that only exists for the movie, and her and the clerk discuss how great the song is.

You have Adam Driver and Bill Murray playing cops in a small town overrun by zombies with an all star cast that includes Sturgill Simpson, PLUS an original song that Sturgill wrote for the movie called “The Dead Don’t Die.”

I don’t trust anybody that doesn’t want to see this. The Dead Don’t Die hits theaters on June 14th.
