Fresh off the release of his 3rd studio album, WWIII, and it looks like Ol’ Wheeler is hanging it up.
Last night, Wheeler Walker Jr sent out a long string of tweets that started out with “Country Music is dead and fucking gone” then got to “I will not be making another country record- waste of fucking time.”
Anyone is actually a fan on Wheeler knows that Ben Hoffman is the comedic mastermind behind him. He’s a comedian who has written for Comedy Central, MTV, Archer and starred in New Girl. Personally, I liked Wheeler’s music and have since about a week after his first album came out. His songs are funny and produced by Dave Cobb so of course they sound really good. However, it appears as though the whole shtick might be coming to an end. After all, Ben will be producing a new animated comedy series on Netflix, alongside New Girl’s Jake Johnson, called Hoops.
Will he have time to keep Wheeler alive? Is this an empty promise or is he seriously done? I guess we’ll have to wait and see…
Oh, and he also ended the rant with a healthy dose of “fucks” to many of country’s big stars.
