Garth Brooks’ new Las Vegas residency is one of the hottest tickets in town, apparently.
Tickets for his 2023 Garth Brooks/Plus ONE residency sold out during the first day of presale, he announced on his Inside Studio G Facebook show this past Monday:
“What a day… what an unbelievable day this was for us.
So, every show in ’23 is up, every show in ’23 is pretty much…done. It’s good, really good, a whole year in one day… that’s nice!”
There were tickets for 27 shows on sale, and while they didn’t have quite the Taylor Swift-level demand, he said that around 60,000 people were unable to purchase tickets via Ticketmaster:
“They also had more people than they could take care of, which was very sweet for us. So how do you take care of those people who weren’t taken care of? The last two hours we’ve been talking to Caesars, talking to them about the possibility of extending this residency.”
The shows will take place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, and he’s already talking about the possibility of extending the dates through 2024 due to high ticket demand.
He added that, if they end up doing dates in 2024, they verified fans who missed out on this round of tickets will have first priority for 2024:
“But here’s the deal… if the extension happens, those people that were verified fans that did not get in, you will be first in line…for’ 24… if ’24 happens. It’s the only way to do it.
If ’24 comes around and Caesars is sweet enough to want to do this for another year, which wasn’t planning on it, but hey, I got nothing to do.”
If Garth is selling tickets like this, I don’t think Caesars is gonna have a problem letting him add as many shows as he wants.
After embarking on a stadium tour for a lot of this year, and the past few years prior, Garth wanted to try something different and “shrink it back down” from headlining massive stadiums to tens of thousands of fans.
When he made the announcement about this new project on GMA a couple weeks ago, he explained that they’ll take a bit of a different approach with these new shows…
He’s calling it a one man show, where he’ll have his band members sitting in the audience at the ready for whenever he wants to pull them up on stage:
“We’re calling it the ‘Plus ONE’ because we’re going to try something we’ve never tried before. The band is coming but It’s the one-man show.
They’re going to sit in the audience, so any time you want a fiddle just to come up and join you, any time you just want percussion and background to come up and sing or it’s just you — or just bring the whole band up to do ‘Friends in Low Places’ — this should be stupid.”
Garth had a multi-year residency in Vegas at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas from 2009 2013.
And it sounds like if you were lucky enough to score a ticket for this new residency, it will certainly be a unique show to remember.
