Got the internet all up in arms.
It’s no secret that Riley Green has a way of driving the ladies crazy. The country music heartthrob has leaned into his sex appeal through partnerships with underwear brand Gildan and steamy ads for companies like Black Rifle Coffee, as well as sultry songs like “Worst Way” and “Change My Mind.” And he’s also country music’s most eligible bachelor, despite rumored relationships with several of his fellow country artists in the past.
But apparently some women really are ready to risk it all for Riley…
A group of female fans recently posted a video showing all of them taking off their wedding rings ahead of a Riley Green concert:

Now, the video is clearly just a joke…as evidenced by the caption, which says “this is a joke.” But the internet clearly wasn’t a fan of the humor, with the comments quickly siding with their husbands and calling out the women for joking about cheating on their spouses:
“Imagine if the husbands did this at an Ella Langley concert……”
“Um so this is weird”
“Yeah, I’m judgin. Won’t ever catch me making jokes about taking my damn ring off”
“The more time I spend on the internet, the more confirmation I get that my husband and I are incredibly blessed to have each other……”

“No way I’m taking my ring off”
“I love my man so much I can’t even joke like this..”
“I guess marriage is a joke”
“This is so sad”
“I joke about a lot of stuff but my marriage ain’t one.”
“If men did this women would have a field day calling it disrespectful so why should men not react the same to this. This is weird behavior (joking or not)”
“I go into every decision thinking what if my husband did this to me and how would it make me feel. This is just disrespectful to him and your marriage. Joke or not, it just shows him he is replaceable to you.”

And several women even made videos calling out the group for joking about cheating on their husbands:

Yeah, seems like that “joke” backfired. And honestly, like many of the comments pointed out, you’ve gotta wonder if the wives would feel the same way if it were the husbands making the jokes. Maybe they’d be fine with it, but something tells me there are plenty of women who wouldn’t…
There hasn’t been a follow up from the women in the video yet, so who knows how their husbands feel about the jokes. But if things didn’t work out with Riley Green, I hope for their sake that their husbands aren’t too mad about it…
