Nashville Police Officers Recall Heroic Moments Evacuating Residents Before RV Explosion

The six Nashville police officers that heroically rushed into the face of danger and evacuated resident before the blast have been formally recognized by the Nashville City officials this morning.

In a press conference, the officers addressed the media, recalling the harrowing moments before the blast, the aftermath, and more.

According to New 5, the bomb squad was on the way when the device exploded.

Officer Luellen was the first one on the scene. He saw a man walking a dog and told him to evacuate shortly before the blast which knocked over both Luellen and the man.

The second officer who responded to the scene was Brenna Hosey. She immediately scrambled to clear apartments on Second Avenue as the warning message played. Another officer, Officer James Wells, suffered hearing loss from the blast.

Officer Amanda Topping, who has been with the department for 21 months

Sergeant Timothy Miller, who has been with the department for 11 years
