We need to make at least one of these happen.
Ella Langley is currently on a generational run, with her hit “Choosin’ Texas,” that’s really more of a phenomenon at this point, being the driving force behind it all. As it stands today, “Choosin’ Texas” is the longest-running #1 hit by a female country artist on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, the only country song by a woman to triple up and go #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, Hot Country and Country Airplay chart simultaneously and now the third-longest-running hit in U.S. HISTORY.
After securing its 17th frame at #1 last week and securing more weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 in 2026 than all other artists COMBINED, this week, Choosin’ Texas” remained at #1 for its 18th frame, garnering 25 million official streams, 54.6 million airplays on radio and 8,000 units sold. She now owns the third-longest-running #1 hit in terms of weeks spent at the top, only behind the likes of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” (22 weeks), Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” (19 weeks) and Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road” (19 weeks).
She is the it girl in music, and it has been really fun to watch her career explode the way it has… due to her newfound fame, Ella has expanded into the perfume and clothing space, and of course, she’s gotten a lot of attention from some of music’s biggest names, like Drake, for example, who recently commented on her Instagram post.
So you would think that her options for potential collaborations would be endless, and in a recent interview with Variety, Ella revealed her dream collaborations would be with three incredible artists in:
“Stevie Nicks, Chris Stapleton, Harry Styles.”
I think we can at least make the Stapleton one happen… maybe on EL3, whenever that time comes. Stevie Nicks is obviously a legend and I think her influence on Ella is pretty obvious when you listen to the music, and honestly, the most surprising one was Harry Styles, but I could definitely see Ella leaning into the more pop side of country at some point, or maybe even going completely pop to work with him.
Of course, Ella also spoke about her friend and mentor Miranda Lambert, explaining that she has given her invaluable advice while navigating this wild chapter of her career and life:
“Miranda has given me more advice than I can possibly ask for. She’s always reminded me to stay true to myself, keep the music at the center of everything, and trust that the rest will take care of itself.”
Ella also talked about her decision to have a group of all female openers on this first part of her Dandelion tour, which was done very intentionally. She will have Ernest, Kameron Marlowe, Dylan Marlowe join her for a run soon, too:
“My management team and I talk about the show and what makes sense for the fans and also artists I believe in and am a fan of in general. I am such a big fan of Kaitlin Butts, Gabriella Rose and Laci Kaye Booth, so it was a YES when we found out they were available and wanted to.
It was also a blessing to add in the Hamilton show to have Avery Anna and Madeline Edwards this month. Then Ernest, Kameron Marlowe, Dylan Marlowe are some great friends in town who I have always been a fan of and love to work with.
I’ve written with each of them and it’s fun to have them a part of the show to mix it up for the fans. We just try to make it make sense and a great show for the Dandelion Tour.”
Ella is at a point right now where she really could almost work with anyone she wanted to, especially in country music, and we all know how much Stapleton loves to collab… int he last several years, he’s worked with country artists and non-country artists like Adele, Taylor Swift, P!nk, Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars, Carly Pearce, Morgan Wallen, Miranda Lambert and more, so I don’t see why Ella couldn’t make it happen with him.
Sonically, I think it makes a ton of sense, and they’re two of the best in the genre right now, so why not. As country music fans, I think we deserve it…
