“They’re Still Not Listening”: Ricky Gervais Slams Virtue Signaling At The Grammys As His Legendary Golden Globes Monologue Goes Viral Again

Billie Eilish Ricky Gervais

The more things change, the more they stay the same in Hollywood. On Monday, February 2, 2026, social media is flooded with a familiar face following the hyper-politicized 68th Annual Grammy Awards… Ricky Gervais. Of course, we all knew going into last night that the ceremony was going to be one large soapbox for out of touch, multi-millionaire celebrities to complain about immigration, ICE, Donald Trump and whatever other political cause they can espouse … and it took host Trevor Noah (why does he even get this gig?) all of five minutes before he took a shot at the President, along with rapper Nicki Minaj. Say what you want about Nicki Minaj, she’s the only celebrity I know who is speaking out about the thousands and thousands of Christians who get killed in Nigeria every year.

And to make matter worse, you have the liberal media hijacking the red carpet with nonstop questions about politics every chance they get. Jelly Roll, who boldly stood on that stage and proclaimed the Gospel, also boldly shut down the political line of questioning from the media, but somehow we went from “what are you wearing tonight?” or “who are you looking forward to seeing tonight?” to “please Sabrina Carpenter, in the next 12 seconds, can you unpack your entire philosophy on American geopolitics and its impact on marginalized communities within the United States?” It’s all so exhausting…

Bad Bunny, who is Puerto Rican and like all Puerto Ricans, an American citizen, made headlines with his “ICE out” comments, after winning Best Música Urbana Album for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, which also won Best Album in the all-genre category. He said:

“Before I say thanks to God, I’m gonna say: ICE out. We’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans.”

And I get it, Bad Bunny is a voice for all Latinos, not just Puerto Ricans, and you’d be an idiot to think that he wouldn’t have something to say about the immigration situation in America right now, but minus the “ICE out” part, his commentary wasn’t very controversial to me. He appealed to love over hate, and during his Album of the Year win, encouraged people from all over the world to chase their dreams. Can’t wait for the Super Bowl…

But Billie Eilish perhaps had the most ridiculous acceptance speech which she kicked off with shockingly contradicting phrase, “No one is illegal on stolen land,” which of course got thunderous applause, with Sabrina Carpenter nodding and clapping like a buffoon. Let’s just unpack this really quick… if the land is stolen, that means someone owned it before it was taken. And if someone owned it, then trespassers would indeed be… illegal. Right? Make it make sense.

Here’s her full statement:

“I feel so honored every time I get to be in this room. As grateful as I feel, I honestly don’t feel like I need to say anything but that no one is illegal on stolen land. And, yeah, it’s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now, and I feel really hopeful in this room, and I feel like we just need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting, and our voices really do matter, and the people matter, and **** ICE. That’s all I’m going to say. Sorry. Thank you so much.”

My favorite thing about the “stolen land” comments is that anyone who says that certainly isn’t going to give theirs back. Fair enough, Billie, call it stolen, then… are you going to give your property back? Your gated, highly-secure, allegedly $14 million dollar property in the Hollywood Hills back to the native people who once occupied that part of Los Angeles? Does your brother still own that Malibu beach house? Is he gonna give that back? No? Ok… didn’t think so. Is anyone in that room going to? No…. that’s what I thought. Perhaps the Tongva people would like a word…

Actually, we know Billie understands why it’s important to have law and order when it comes to borders and property:

The American people are so tired of being lectured by the wealthiest and most famous people in the country who get up on stage and say how we should be doing all these things for immigrants, for the marginalized, for the poor… and then retreat back to their mostly-white, gated communities, with tons of armed security, high fences, big walls… we’re talking about the most exclusive concentrations of wealth in America. They send their kids to the most exclusive schools in the world. They want nothing to do with the kind of people they stand up on stage and express their support for. They don’t open up their communities or their mansions for these people. It’s nothing but self-righteous, virtue signaling… let me demonstrate how morally superior I am, while at the same time completely insulating myself from any of the real world implications of these words. They call for open borders from gated communities, they call for firearm bans behind armed security. They call for environmentalism from the skies aboard their private jets. They call for free speech and then demonize anyone who disagrees with them. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

And they still won’t listen to Ricky Gervais….

Ricky Gervais famously hosted the Golden Globes in 2020, and delivered a legendary monologue that goes viral just about every single time there is an awards show lately. Why? Because he mocked, ridiculed and stood in bold opposition to every one of these bozos who get up on stage and repeat the same political talking points without an ounce of real world understanding for what the common person goes through every day.

And given last night’s political grandstanding, he recalled his 2020 monologue, pointing out the obvious:

“They’re still not listening.”

Ricky destroyed everybody in the room, even calling out their connections to Jeffrey Epstein, but the most pertinent part to last night was as follows:

“Apple roared into the TV game with The Morning Show, a superb drama about the importance of dignity and doing the right thing, made by a company that runs sweatshops in China. Well, you say you’re woke but the companies you work for in China — unbelievable. Apple, Amazon, Disney. If ISIS started a streaming service you’d call your agent, wouldn’t you?

So if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent, and your God and **** off, OK?”

Watch Ricky’s entire speech below… can we get him to host every year, every awards show… please?
