She’s not gonna like that one…
The relationship between 73-year old coaching legend Bill Belichick and his 24-year old girlfriend, former cheerleader Jordon Hudson, has come under a lot of scrutiny lately following his disastrous interview with CBS Sunday Morning a couple weeks ago.
Of course that’s not entirely new, because there’s been a lot of attention on the couple since they started dating a couple years ago. But folks started to raise red flags when they saw Hudson helping out at UNC football practices, after it was revealed that Belichick had also asked staff to copy his girlfriend on emails they send to him.

And then a couple weeks ago, Belichick sat down with CBS for an interview on his new book, The Art Of Winning: Lessons From My Life In Football.
According to a report from TMZ, Hudson was the only person who accompanied Belichick to the interview: No PR team, no other staff from UNC, nobody from the publisher of his upcoming book, which he was supposedly there to promote. At one point Hudson reportedly stormed off the set and delayed shooting by 30 minutes, forcing higher-ups at CBS to get involved. And she had apparently interrupted from off camera several times in addition to the one that was shown, forcing producers to try to figure out how to salvage the final product and edit the interview in a way that could be aired on television.
When reporter Tony Dokoupil asked about how the couple met (which has been widely reported as having happened while the two were on a flight together and he signed her college textbook), Hudson quickly jumped in and shut the question down in an awkward exchange:
The whole thing was bizarre, and led many to wonder whether Hudson was taking advantage of the legendary coach – or at the very least, tarnishing his legacy.
Even Belichick’s daughter-in-law, the wife of his son Steve Belichick (who, ironically, works for his dad as the defensive coordinator for UNC) chimed in and seemed to throw shade at Hudson:
“Publicists act in a professional manner and don’t ‘storm’ off set delaying an interview.”
Talk about awkward.
Well apparently Hudson has become enough of a problem for Belichick’s family that they’re worried that she’s hurting his image and legacy. During a bombshell report from sportswriter and former ESPN host Pablo Torre on his podcast Pablo Torre Finds Out, the host revealed that the coach’s family is “deeply worried” about the damage Hudson is doing – and have even been doing their own research into her background:
“There is deep worry for how detrimental Jordon can be for not just North Carolina but Bill’s legacy, reputation — everything he has built and worked for over decades.”
And apparently it’s not just his family: Torre also reported that UNC decided after the interview to ban Hudson from football practices – and the football facility altogether, with a source telling Torre that they “don’t think you’ll be hearing much from Jordon moving forward.”
It’s not surprising that UNC is concerned and would want to do everything to protect their coach and football program, after signing Belichick to a $50-million contract. The university was forced to release a statement after the CBS interview defending Hudson and claiming that the interview was solely to talk about his new book, which CBS later denied with their own statement claiming that they hadn’t agreed to any restrictions on the conversation.
The whole thing is turning into a disaster for UNC and Belichick, a coach who notoriously liked to stay out of the headlines and away from the media to just focus on football.
It’s pretty clear at this point that this isn’t going to end well. Whether that’s Belichick choosing to separate from Hudson to protect his own career and legacy, or standing by her at the expense of all that he’s built, I guess we’ll have to see.
But you gotta think Hudson isn’t going to react well to being sidelined after being so intimately involved in all things Bill Belichick lately.
