BRING IT ON.
There is no better way to start your week than with the announcement that Muscadine Bloodline will soon release new music.
To kick off 2025, the Alabama duo shared on social media that it would be their best year yet, promising fans, not one but two new records this year. With this promise, they also revealed that these records would expand on their 2024 record, The Coastal Plain, which landed at #3 on Whiskey Riff’s Top 40 County Albums of 2024.
“That being said, we will be starting this year by turning to chapter 2 of ‘The Coastal Plain.’ In the form of a whole different record. We don’t wanna spoil all the details.. but rather than a deluxe record, or giving you songs that “didn’t make the cut” on the first go around, consider it an evolution of The Coastal Plain and what was left behind of the place we spent 18 years of our lives. One record wasn’t intended to live without the other, and honestly, we both like chapter 2 a little more.
“God willing, 2025 is gunna be our biggest year yet. Our biggest headlining tour to start the year, a new record soon, some big festivals this summer, the biggest tour we’ve been a part of in the fall, and another record at the end of the year. (TWO RECORDS IN ONE YEAR???…..YES)”
With the quick release of the collaboration “Ain’t For Sale” with Josh Meloy and, most recently, their single “Chickasaw Church of Christ,” it was apparent to fans that their nose was to the grindstone and they were not going to make fans wait for new music.
When they dropped the heartbreaking and beautiful song “Chickasaw Church Of Christ,” Muscadine said that another announcement was coming the following week. Some fans noticed that a pending record was showing up on their Apple Music. Because of this, they did not wait long to announce the first record of 2025, sharing today that on April 11th, they will gift fans …And What Was Left Behind.
“On April 11th, we will be releasing a new record, entitled ‘And What Was Left Behind.’
This album serves as not just the 2nd chapter of “The Coastal Plain” but, a completion of an all encompassing concept. An 11-song journey filled with stories of real people and places, love, heartbreak, hardship, and friendship, all wrapped in the nostalgia of where we called home for 18 years. South Alabama shaped us, and this project reflects the memories, lessons, and pieces of ourselves that still live there—even after we left. Which is why the record is amply titled….
‘And What Was Left Behind’”

The Coastal Plain was a songwriting masterclass, and with the few singles we’ve been gifted thus far in 2025, it’s clear Muscadine Bloodline is not slowing down anytime soon. Fans who have followed the duo since the start can feel that they hit their stride last year, tapping into a deeper well of songwriting while honing in on their gritty sound.
While I have been a fan of all of their music since the start, what they released last year took them to the next level, and I can’t wait to hear what’s in store for And What Was Left Behind.
April 11th can’t come soon enough.
Fire up “Chickasaw Church of Christ” while you’re here.
