Muscadine Bloodline & Josh Meloy Tangle With The Devil In New Single “Ain’t For Sale”

Muscadine Bloodline Josh Meloy

Man, those Muscadine Bloodline boys don’t stop.

Fresh off of the release of The Coastal Plain this past summer, their third album in as many years amidst a handful of other singles and EPs, the prolific duo of Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton is already back at it with more music. And as always, they’re bringing the heat.

But they’re not at it alone this time, teaming up with Oklahoma’s Josh Meloy, an outstanding artist in his own right best known for his hit single “Porch Light,” Muscadine Bloodline’s latest single “Ain’t For Sale,” is a haunting and hard-driving tune full of metaphorical lyricism and Biblical allusions that follows a narrator fighting temptation and trying to stay strong in their convictions. A tale that’s quite literally as old as time, Muscadine Bloodline and Meloy bring the innate human struggle against temptation to light in a creative and thought-provoking manner.

Deftly co-written by Stanton and Meloy, “Ain’t For Sale” sets a gritty tone for Muscadine Bloodline’s next record, a direct follow up to last year’s The Coastal Plain set for release sometime later this year. Meloy kicks off the song with vocals on the first verse before Muncaster chimes in on the second verse and the trio brings it home together harmonizing through the third verse to drive the point home – The devil’s out of luck.

Check out Muscadine Bloodline’s latest single “Ain’t For Sale” featuring Josh Meloy here:

“It’s 3am, I ain’t sleeping again
Pleading with God to fight off what I can’t fend
Oh Lord I’ll be damned if that ole devil’s waiting for me to fail
But this soul of mine, it ain’t for sale”

Muscadine Bloodline, spent the first several years of their existence trying to hone in their sound, forge an identity and achieve some form or success. Ultimately becoming jaded by the commercial aspect of the industry, they set out with a vendetta against the status quo, and have dedicated themselves over the last few years to making their own brand of country music centered around story-centric lyricism steeped in their Alabama upbringing.

As a result, they’ve found their sound and become one of the biggest independent bands in the country music genre, and with two albums slated for release in 2025, they seem confident the best is yet to come. And I sure wouldn’t bet against ’em.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, here are a couple of my favorite tracks off of their last album The Coastal Plain, one of the best records released in 2024.

“Daffodils”

“Good In This World”

And if you aren’t familiar with Josh Meloy, the rising Red Dirt star who co-wrote “Ain’t For Sale” and contributed vocals on the track, here’s his biggest hit “Porch Light,” which has amassed nearly 250 million streams on Spotify alone since its release in 2022.

Meloy is no one-hit-wonder, though, so make sure to dig into his catalog if you like what you hear.

Both Muscadine Bloodline and Josh Meloy put on incredible live shows, so if they’re coming to a city near you, make sure to get out their and hear these songs live. You sure won’t regret it.
