Another stellar Kelly Clarkson country cover.
Yesterday on her daytime talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly covered the heck out of the Ronnie Milsap classic “It Was Almost Like a Song.”
Written by Hal David and Archie Jordan, Milsap recorded “It Was Almost Like a Song” and released it in May of 1977 as the lead single and title track from his album of the same name.
It became his eighth #1 song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and also became Milsap’s first Billboard Hot 100 chart entry when it peaked at #16. It also charted on on Billboard’s Hot Adult Contemporary Singles chart, peaking at #7.
The song remains a timeless fan-favorite to this day, and I could listen to Kelly sing it all day long… out of all the pop artists going country right now, she’s someone who not only should do it, but could really pull it off and knows her stuff.
