“Sippin’ on gin and juice, laid back…”

I have no idea what this will sound like, but I’m here for it. HARDY just announced that he’s releasing a reimagined version of Snoop Dogg’s iconic 90’s song “Gin and Juice” tomorrow, which I certainly did not have on bingo card for 2024.

But hey, everybody wants in on country music right now, including these two hip-hop legends.

It’s seemingly in partnership with Snoop and Dr. Dre’s new premium spirits brand Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop, which of course features a ready-to-drink cocktail named for their iconic 90’s song.

Snoop released “Gin and Juice” (which was produced by Dr. Dre), in January of 1994 as the second single from his 1993 debut album Doggystyle. It peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States, and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance at the 37th Annual Grammy Awards.

Since then, the song has been certified Gold by the RIAA and become a Hip-Hop standard over the decades. Hardy shared a photo of himself with Snoop and Dre in costume on Instagram earlier, saying that there’s some sort of video coming with it too:

“I’m still in disbelief, but I am so stoked to announce that I recorded my version of this classic record for the short film Gin and Juice with the blessing of  Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg themselves.

Thankful for the opportunity. Song drops tonight at 11p CT.”

Stay tuned…

Gonna have this stuck in my head all day now…
