I honestly wouldn’t be mad at this…

I mean, if Snoop Dogg and Willie Nelson can work together, I don’t see why Dr. Dre and Dolly Parton. couldn’t.

The legendary hip hop producer appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, where the host asked him if he’d ever consider working with artists from other genres. He’s known for working with people like Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 2Pac, 50 Cent and more, though he explained that it’s not uncommon for him to have artist from outside of that world reach out about working with him.

Dr. Dre explained that he’s not against it and it would depend on the circumstances, though at the end of the day, his “love is with hip hop”:

“Yes, all the time but, you know, my love is with hip hop. It really depends on the relationship. If I meet somebody and we click, or what have you, then I’ll go in the studio and get down.”

Kimmel continued, throwing out the one and only Mrs. Dolly as an example of an artist that seems the opposite of his musical taste, and Dr. Dre lit up, quickly explaining that he would love to produce a Dolly Parton album and “Jolene” is one of his favorite songs:

“I love Dolly Parton. Yes, absolutely. ‘Jolene’ is one of my favorite songs.”

A man after my own heart…

Though they clearly have very different styles, purely for curiosity’s sake and knowing how individually talented and legendary they both are, I’d love to hear what they would come up with.

Probably a pipe dream, but still, it’s kinda fun to think about and cool to see the respect Dolly has from such an iconic music figure well outside of the country genre.

Clearly Dre has great taste… turn it up:
