Kevin Costner’s got himself a new woman… probably.
The Yellowstone star has been in the news quite a bit of late, both for his upcoming movie Horizon: An American Saga and his recent comments on returning to TV’s most popular show, despite a very notable break with creator Taylor Sheridan on how Yellowstone should wrap up.
While no one knows for sure what caused the creative differences and scheduling conflicts reported to be the reason Costner probably won’t return to Yellowstone, it’s undeniable that a divorce only made things worse.
Back in May, Costner’s wife of 18 years, Christine Baumgartner, filed for a divorce, which caught the actor off guard and lead to a number of court hearings where it was decided that Costner would pay her $129 thousand a month in child support.
After an 18 year marriage, no one would fault the guy if he committed himself fully to his work, especially considering he funded most of Horizon out of his own pocket, but it didn’t take long for a potential new love interest to pop up in his life.
Costner was spotted cozying up with singer/songwriter Jewel on a trip to the British Virgin Islands back in December, around 6 months after his divorce was filed for.
Now, anytime two people with the status of Kevin Costner and Jewel are rumored to be dating, the media is going to run wild, but we really hadn’t heard anything more about it until now.
Jewel recently sat down with Elle for an interview, and while the majority of the conversation centers on her life, a new art project titled The Portal: An Art Experience by Jewel which is set to debut in May, and her work in the mental health space, there was a short line tucked away in the middle where she opened up a bit on the alleged relationship with Costner.
Quoting from the article:
“She’s an open book, even divulging her thoughts on rumored beau and Yellowstone star Kevin Costner: “He’s a great person,” she says, blushing, adding that “the public fascination is intense for sure.”
So, does that mean they’re together? It’s not exactly a smoking gun, but the fact that the author was speaking on how open she was and decided to include this tidbit when it for sure could have been left out makes me wonder if something more was spoken about off-record…
At the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter which celebrities are dating another, but I really like Jewel, have for awhile, and hope that she’s happy with her life, whether Costner is deeply involved or not.
