Turnpike Troubadours Throw Charity Concert & Raise $175,000 For The Texas Panhandle Wildfire Relief

The Turnpike Troubadours give back to those impacted by the wildfires.

The Oklahoma band knows the importance of being there for those in need and stepped up to the plate when the West Texas community needed help. In early March, wildfires swept across the West Texas landscape, burning over one million acres of land, destroying hundreds of homes and ranches, and as many as 10,000 cattle were killed.

The first has been beyond devastating to the agricultural community that resides in that portion of Texas.

The Turnpike Troubadours, among other country artists, put on charity shows to raise money for the Texas Panhandle Wildfire Relief Fund. Last week in Lubbock, Texas, Red Shahan joined the band performing a show, and all proceeds went to the fund.

The band announced the show last week on Instagram, selling it as an “intimate night” with the Turnpike Troubadours. The event took place at Cooks Garage, a restaurant and bar that also has a decent-sized music venue.

With other names like Oliver Anthony and Koe Wetzel performing at the venue, Turnpike was sure to draw a crowd.

From the show, the band raised $175,000 for the relief fund that helps both Texans and Oklahomans in the panhandle that were impacted by the raging wildfires.

You love to see a group like these guys that care about the communities that support their music. While the fires left a mark that will take some time to rebuild, this show raised a good portion of money for the fund that will make a difference in the lives of those who need help right now.
