While Patrick Mahomes has been busy cementing himself as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time at the age of 28, his father has been… getting arrested.

Back in February (the week before the Super Bowl might I add), Patrick Mahomes Sr. was pulled over and arrested for a DWI. He admitted to “having a few beers” and reportedly even had a Coors Light tallboy in the cupholder. If honesty mattered at all, at least he wasn’t trying to hide anything.

Mahomes Sr., a former major league pitcher, has now faced three DWI charges in the last twenty years, with the first being in 2008, the second in 2019, and now the most recent incident in February of 2024.

Fast forwarding to today, the father of the three-time Super Bowl winner was indicted for a felony DWI by Texas prosecutors.

So with that being said, Mahomes Sr. could now face up to 10 years in prison. At the very least, his sentence would last two years, though he could serve less time if a plea agreement was to be reached.

All in all, it’s a sad story for Patrick Mahomes Sr. who should have nothing but good things in his life thanks to his son’s accomplishments on the football field.

Shoutout to Patrick Mahomes for still making a case for himself to be the GOAT while his father gets arrested for DWI’s and his brother Jackson gets charged with sexual assault (though those charges have since been dropped).
