Ouch.

Oliver Anthony burst onto the scene last year with “Rich Men North of Richmond,” his political anthem bashing the elite DC politicians. The song became a mega-hit, racking up nearly 125 million views on YouTube and over 168 million streams on Spotify so far.

The song wasn’t without controversy though. While those on the political right embraced the song as a working man’s anthem, those on the left thought it took unnecessary shots at folks on welfare and blasted Anthony as a right-wing partisan.

But after his song was the subject of a question in a GOP presidential debate, Anthony (whose real name is Christopher Anthony Lunsford) made clear that “Rich Men North of Richmond” is calling out politicians on both sides of the aisle, and said that he didn’t like his song being used for political purposes.

Despite his best efforts though, it seems pretty clear that one side of the aisle has embraced the song – and Anthony – more than the other.

During a recent show on his first-ever tour, the Out of the Woods tour, a fired-up crowd began chanting “F*ck Joe Biden” during the show.

And after the crowd quieted down, Anthony couldn’t help but laugh, joking with the crowd:

“Saying f*ck Joe Biden, I don’t know about that, I think y’all are just a little too old for him.

Y’all are a little too old to rub his hairy legs, I know that.”
