Honoring a fellow Texan.

Miss Kelly Clarkson has been absolutely crushing it with her country covers for the Kellyoke segment of her daytime talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show.

She recently sang a duet with Lainey Wilson on “Country’s Cool Again,” and yesterday, she broke out a George Strait classic with “Carrying Your Love with Me.”

The song was originally written by Steve Bogard and Jeff Stevens, and included as the second single and title track from The King’s 1997 album of the same name, which eventually peaked at #1 on the Billboard U.S. Hot Country Songs chart later that year.

George was also nominated for Best Male Country Vocal Performance at the 1998 Grammy Awards because of this sweet little song, and it’s always been one of my personal favorite’s of his.

Anywho, we all know Kelly can sing the phonebook and make it sound good, and of course, this is no different.

It’s probably one of the better covers of this song I’ve ever heard, and every time she does a country classic like this, it makes me want her to really do a country record more and more… check it out:
