That was a Hall of Fame press conference from Jason Kelce.

Of course Kelce is a lock for the Hall of Fame when his time comes, and today the center announced his retirement today after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.

It was an emotional press conference for the beloved Kelce, who spent time reflecting on his football career and thanking those who have been there with him along the way.

Kelce took time to pay tribute to his wife Kylie, who he met during his time with the Eagles:

“I think it’s no coincidence I have enjoyed my best years of my career with Kylie by my side. Every accolade I have ever received has come with her in my life. She has brought the best out of me through love, devotion, support, honesty, intelligence, and of course, a swift kick in the *** from time to time.

She has also given me 3 beautiful girls and a life that increasingly brings me more fulfillment off the field than it does on.

We’ve had a great run Ky.”

And his comments on his father, Ed Kelce, have really seemed to resonate with folks online:

“I am a product of my upbringing. I think one of the best things a person can be in this world is a father. A father who is present, loving, devoted, just may be the greatest gift a child could ask for in our society.

And I have a damn good one.”

After the press conference, many took to Twitter (or X, whatever) to praise Kelce for emphasizing the role that fathers play in our society:

Of course Kelce now has more time to spend with his own children, Bennie, Elliotte, and Wyatt. And that’s more important than anything he’s accomplished on the field during his Hall of Fame career.
