Sensational in and out of the recording booth.

Kacey Musgraves is fully embracing her Deeper Well era. With announcing her world tour today while also releasing a new single from her new album, “Too Good to be True,” she is still giving air time to the title single.

I am a sucker for an unplugged jam session, and this one does not miss. Kacey posted a video to her TikTok of her and two of her guitar players sitting on the floor wholly unplugged, delivering a stunning performance of “Deeper Well.” The song discussing cutting out the things that no longer serve you has been on repeat for me since its release. The simple message hits everyday things that sometimes do not let you live to the fullest and hits a feeling nearly everyone can relate to.

As Kacey holds the phone, her vocal talent shines. Her voice is one of the clearest and purest in country music right now, somehow sounding almost better unplugged than it does on the record. During the second verse, she cracks some hilarious jokes during the lines about giving up getting high every day.

“I used to wake and bakeRoll out of bed, hit the gravity bong that I made (It’s true)And start the dayFor a while, it got me by (I made it out of a two-liter)Everything I did seemed better when I was high (so ****** high)I don’t know why…”

The way that Kacey is able to write songs that appeal to everyone as they grow through their 20s is incredible. Golden Hour struck a chord for those in their early 20s, and now, as listeners have grown up, gone through some heartbreak, and matured, this album hits the new version of listeners.

I am beyond ready for this album to drop.
