Another hit song for Chris Stapleton.

He scored his fourth career #1 single at country radio this week with “White Horse,” which was included on his 2022 fifth studio album Higher.

It topped the Mediabase chart, which is one of two charts labels use to officially track their songs performance (along with the U.S. Billboard Country Airplay chart):

A co-write by Chris along with Dan Wilson, “White Horse” is right in Chris’ wheelhouse in terms of his country, bluesy sound that we all know and love, where he sings about running from love and how he’s certainly now cowboy who’s going to save this girl and ride off into the sunset with her.

Coupled with his distinct and powerful vocals, it’s clearly a hit in every sense and one of my favorites from the aforementioned new record:

“This love is getting kinda dangerous
Feels like it’s a loaded gun
My-my, it’s turning like a cloud of dust
My heart always wants to run

Oh-oh-oh-oh
If you want a cowboy on a white horse
Ridin’ off into the sunset
If that’s the kinda love you wanna wait for
Hold on tight, girl, I ain’t there yet
No, I ain’t there yet”

It was the first single released from Higher, and clearly, a very strong way to kick off the project.

And since he’s in the market for picking another single to send to radio here soon, I’d love to suggest his co-write with Miranda Lambert, “What Am I Gonna Do,” because it’s another one of the best on the album and is quickly becoming a fan-favorite.

Congratulations to Chris on another #1, and here’s to many more to come.
