In college football, athletes don’t have much time for themselves once the season ends. You may get a week or two off to regroup, but after that it’s back in the weight room in preparation for spring practice and the next season.

So, when college athletes get a little bit of a break away from the game, they typically spend it the best way they know how.

And for star Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers? He decided to spend his little bit of free time in the woods.

Ewers and the Longhorns are still coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Washington Huskies in the Sugar Bowl, falling one game short of making their first National Championship since 2009. It was a heartbreaker for Longhorns fans everywhere, but things are looking bright for the team in 2024, and they have a serious chance to return to the College Football Playoff next season. And Ewers might be the quarterback again next year if he doesn’t declare for the 2024 NFL Draft.

So, who can blame ol’ Quinn for wanting to get away for a little and spend some time in the peace and quiet? And needless to say, this hunting trip was worth his while.

Ewers posted a few pictures to Instagram of him showing off a beauty buck he bagged while on a bow hunting trip in McCoy, Texas.

And he wrote in the caption:

“Venado grande”

Which means “big deer.”

I’d say so. Even Parker McCollum couldn’t help but comment on the post:

“Thiccccccc”
