Dolly Parton has been married to her husband for over 55 years now, and they’re seemingly just as in love as ever.
He famously stays out of the spotlight, and has only attended one public event with Dolly in her nearly 60-year career, though clearly, that kind of relationship works for them.
Dolly actually mentioned several times in the lead up to released her new Rockstar album that he was a big inspiration behind it and kind of gave her the idea, seeing as he’s a massive fan of rock and roll.
And it might’ve been one of the best ideas he ever had, seeing as Dolly scored her highest-charting album ever this past weekend when the record debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 All-Genre albums chart.
Dolly has of course been doing tons of press to promote the project, and just this week, she stopped by The Drew Barrymore Show to chat about a wide array of subjects, including the fact that Keanu Reeves’ mom, who was a famous costume designer, created her iconic 1978 Playboy cover look.
They also talked about the fact that a couple years ago, she recreated the costume for her husband’s birthday, and obviously, he loved it.
Dolly said that she decided to take him his breakfast wearing it as a surprise, and that it was “the best breakfast I think he ever had”:
“My husband and I have been married 50 years, and I thought, I’m gonna go in and take Carl his breakfast in my bunny suit.
And so I did, and actually, this was just two or three years ago. He loved it! That was the best breakfast I think he ever had.”
I have no doubt about that whatsoever.
Here’s the original video in case you unfortunately missed it at the time:
I’m guessing that means Carl also recently had the best Thanksgiving ever, when his wife trotted out to perform at the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving halftime show looking incredible in the iconic Dallas Cowboys cheerleader outfit…
How many 77 year olds do you know that not only still looks this good but could pull this off with the energy she still has?!?! I love Dolly Parton! Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving day game halftime show 2023! pic.twitter.com/ubx7pUnVJX
