Shots fired.

Jason Isbell is known as much for his music as he is for speaking his mind. The singer-songwriter is never afraid to give his opinion, and is often ruffling feathers and getting into arguments on social media.

This past summer, the laid-back Jake Owen even jumped in to call out Isbell for his comments criticizing Jason Aldean for not writing his own music:

And it seems Jake isn’t the only one in Nashville that’s sick of Isbell’s antics.

Songwriter Jeremy Bussey, who’s written hits like “Raised Up Right” by Riley Green, “Smoke In A Bar” by Travis Tritt, along with songs for names like Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, Luke Bryan, and Jason Aldean, and was nominated for a GRAMMY for co-writing “Girl Goin’ Nowhere” with Ashley McBryde, took to Twitter (or X, whatever you prefer to call it, but I’m sticking with Twitter) to give his thoughts on Isbell – and he didn’t hold back:

“Jason Isbell. If there is a more whining, complaining, crying little bitch, I haven’t met them yet. What a douche.”

Seems to be a pretty popular sentiment online these days. Isbell is no doubt recognized for his songwriting talent, but these days he’s known just as much for his takes on Twitter.
