This will be fun to hear live.

Cody Johnson’s new album Leather is out everywhere today, which features some solid country music and even a cool collab with Jelly Roll (just give it a listen, I promise it’s good).

But that’s not the only collab on the tracklist… he also teamed up with 90’s country legends Brooks & Dunn on a boot-stompin’ tune called “Long Live Country Music.”

Written by Phil O’Donnell, Trent Wilmon and Wade Kirby, CoJo references songs like “Strawberry Wine” and greats like Patsy Cline in a love letter to his favorite genre.

Of course, Ronnie comes in with his one-of-a-kind vocals and nails his verses, as they both hope “that Grand Ole Opry Circle be unbroken” and country music lives on forever.

It’s a bit of checklist song, sure, but I love the upbeat production and hearing these two powerhouse vocalists shine on a fun song like this together.

Of course, there are some much deeper, more introspective songs on the 12-song tracklist of Leather which you should dive into as well, but like I said, this will be a helluva time to hear at a live show… especially if CoJo and Brooks & Dunn are together.

They previously teamed up for an awesome reimagined rendition of Brooks & Dunn’s Red Dirt Road” as part of their 2019 Reboot album:

And I’ll leave the “Whiskey Bent” duet here too:
