It appears we have yet another celebrity high tailing it out of Hollywood, and planting some roots in the country…
And it’s no other than famed singer Katy Perry.
The 37-year-old discussed her new home away from Hollywood in Kentucky, on the “Dear Chelsea” podcast last year:
“I’m living in Kentucky and I have for almost a month now and that’s quite an amazing experience… because it reminds you that Hollywood is not America.”
Perry said that leaving the bustling city of Los Angeles has helped her “understand people better,” as she had gotten acclimated to the Hollywood “bubble” for so long.
She explained that her and her fiancé Orlando Bloom, whom they share a almost two-year-old daughter with, live in a “bubble” that is completely opposite of Hollywood.
Chelsea Handler also weighed in on the podcast:
“You’ve been in different bubbles, because you grew up in a bubble. You grew up super religious and that’s one bubble. Then you came into this industry, that’s another bubble. Right?”
Perry replied:
“Right, it’s an anthropology study of humans.”
She also explained how motherhood was the best decision she has ever made in her life.
Nevertheless, the celebrities seem to be running from Hollywood lately, and it’s refreshing to hear the new perspective on real life.
However, Katy now says she didn’t officially move, just spent a ton of time there.

Chris Stapleton… offend people?
Chris might be one of the nicest guys in all of country music, but even nice guys like Chris can accidentally piss people off from time to time. People like… Katy Perry.
According to WKML, Chris met Katy Perry for the first time at the Grammys a couple years back while performing a Dolly Parton tribute.
While killing time backstage, getting ready for soundcheck, Chris cracked some kind of self-deprecating joke about musicians, and it didn’t land with Katy.
Here’s how it went down:
“We were backstage at the Dolly Parton tribute at the Grammys and we were both performing on that and I never met her before and we struck up a conversation waiting our turn for soundcheck backstage.
I said something that was self deprecating, probably, ‘Oh, well, we’re just musicians’ or something to that effect, to which she said, ‘Well, you know, that’s offensive to me and you. We’re healers. We have an important job.’
It was very enlightening in that moment, and I apologized in no way was it meant to insult her or musicians in general, but yeah, it changed my thinking quite a bit.”
