Sierra Ferrell announces that she will be releasing a brand new single, “Fox Hunt,” on October 19th.
A year ago, I found a live performance of this track and have been hoping the release was near…well a year later, my wish will be granted.

The fiddle-heavy folk tune tells the familiar story of living off the land and going on a hunt to find food for the family. The quick pace will have your feet stompin’ just a few seconds into the track.
“With a gun in hand and my man
We go into the wood
I know just what I need to do
And, yes, it’s understood
Rumblin’ bellies, shakin’ limbs
We’re going to try to make a stand
And no, we’re not going anywhere
Without a prize from the land…”
This song highlights the traditional folk Americana sound that Ferrell established on her 2020 album, Long Time Coming. While each track on that project highlighted an element of her dynamic sound, I am sure future singles for her next album will do the same.
