This is what you get when you make a guy that lives and breathes sports start talking about an international pop star.
Unless you live under a rock, you’ve probably heard (probably a little too much) about Taylor Swift infiltrating the NFL world. The country singer turned pop star started dating Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce, and the relationship has been good for basically everyone.
The NFL had massive viewership for the Chiefs game that Taylor attended this past weekend (24.3 million people watched the blowout of the Chicago Bears), Travis Kelce saw a 400% increase in his jersey sales, and Swift will eventually write a lucrative album about the football player when they inevitably break up.
The only person that the whole thing doesn’t seem to be working for is sports personality and longtime radio host Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo. He had an interesting take on the Swift-Kelce romance, and I’m thinking he might just be in a bad mood because he lost $10,000 this past weekend.
On his SiriusXM radio show Mad Dog Unleashed, he got unleashed alright when he he started speaking about how he didn’t care for the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce storyline.
Russo said:
“I’m going to lead with college football today. I’m not into Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce so try somebody else for that. I could care less.
I don’t care if Taylor Swift is nude in the box (at the game), I’m not that interested. I’m sorry, I could care less.”
Not to be nit-picky, but the proper grammatical phrase there is “I couldn’t care less.” If you “could care less,” that actually means that you care a little bit about it, and there’s room for you to not care as much. Based on the infliction in his voice, I’d say he cares about it just a tad.
And if you want to say that you aren’t that interested in the Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce relationship, that’s fine, but did “Mad Dog” have to bring an unclothed Taylor Swift into the conversation to prove his point? Probably not.
I’m sure the “Swifties” will be working diligently to get Christopher Russo canceled after those comments, and let me tell you, they work quickly and have strength in numbers…
