Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo Is Having Himself A WEEKEND: “Early Cocktail, Half A Gummy, Call Fat Rob… Put 10 Dimes On Colorado”

When it comes to the sports media world, there might not be a bigger personality than Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo.

The longtime radio host was certainly living up to his nickname today during his weekly appearance on ESPN’s First Take across from Stephen A. Smith. The duo was also joined by analyst Marcus Spears, as well as the regular moderator Molly Qerim.

It really didn’t matter who was there today though, because Mad Dog stole the damn show. First Take was looking ahead to the jam-packed college football weekend, and Russo was pumped for a number of the matchups.

Mad Dog is so much looking forward to some of the games that he let the First Take team on his intricate and timed-out plans for the upcoming Saturday:

“Here’s what I’m doing this weekend. The Mrs. is away. It’s going to be lousy weather…So I can’t get my golf and tennis in. So I’m going to get a run in, I’ll take my two dogs for a walk.

At about 12 o’clock, I’ll sit down, make an early cocktail, cut a gummy in half, and (watch) Florida State – Clemson. I like the Florida State quarterback.”

Alcohol, edibles, and a big time college football game? How it could it get any better for Mad Dog?

Well, it does, because that first game between the Tigers and the Seminoles rolls right into the afternoon matchup that everyone is talking about: Deion Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes taking on the Oregon Ducks.

The game alone between two ranked teams should be getting football fans excited, but Russo is doing some “extra-curricular” activities around it to make it that much more enthralling:

“At about 3:25, when I’m sauced…I’m not driving, I’m in the house. I’ll put the call in to Fat Rob (his bookie). You know what? What the hell. I can’t root for Oregon.

Put 10 dimes on Colorado to win the game. By 3:25, I’ll be sitting down with my shorts and a t-shirt, cocktail, (and) I’ll have the other half of the gummy. I’ll put the game on at 3:30…I will bet the ranch and I will go crazy for the Buffaloes on Saturday.”

Mad Dog is putting $10,000 on the Colorado Buffaloes to win on the road, all while he’s “sauced,” popping in gummy edibles, and relaxing in shorts and a t-shirt. Have yourself a DAY Christopher Russo.

While the rest of us were admiring the schedule he was laying out, and his co-hosts of Stephen A. Smith and Marcus Spears were losing their minds, the moderator of the show (Molly) couldn’t help but wonder if Mad Dog was planning on doing all of these things by himself.

So Qerim straight up asked him if he was going to have anyone over or if he would be alone, and Mad Dog said this:

“I’m an only child. I’m my favorite company, yes. I don’t want to hear anybody.”

It might be the best two minutes of TV that First Take has ever done in the history of their show. Things went off the rails, but it was all in a good way.

Take a look:

X users (formerly Twitter) were loving Mad Dog’s excitement for the weekend and sent replies underneath the video in support of the charismatic sports host:
