Oh, this is gonna be good.

To be honest, I’m not too familiar with all the books, but give me a movie about a dystopian future society, death competitions, and a revolution brought about by an arrow-slinging badass babe and you have my attention.

Although, Katniss won’t be in this one…

As you diehard Hunger Games fans already know, there is an upcoming prequel to the original movie series in the works, titled The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.

The movie features Rachel Zegler as District 12 tribute Lucy Gray Baird, and Tom Blyth as the young Coriolanus Snow. It takes place 64 years before the time period from the movies we all know and love today.

According to People, in an attempt to restore his family’s name, Snow mentors Lucy Gray in the 10th annual Hunger Games.

Lucy Gray is a great singer, and uses those skills in the games as the two form an inseparable bond while preparing for the games.

With that being said, the official trailer for the movie is finally here.

In the video, you can hear Lucy Gray singing “The Hanging Tree,” which of course was featured in and sung by Jennifer Lawrence in the 2014 Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. As for the rest of the trailer, we see several snippets of what we can expect, including the first meeting between Lucy Gray and Coriolanus Snow.

I’ll admit, I’m a massive fan of prequels, so you best believe I’ll be in the movie theater for this one.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes premieres on November 17th.
