A session at Carter Vintage Guitars never disappoints.
Miles Miller is on the heels of releasing his lighthearted music video for his single, “Highway Shoes,” off his album Solid Gold, and I shortly after stumbled upon a session he did with Carter Vintage… it felt more than fitting to chat about it.
Miller popped into the Nashville vintage guitar shop right before SolidGoldwas released to sit down and sing a few tunes off the tracklist.
Laur Joamets accompanies Miller on a Mule Resonator while Miller plays a ’41 J-35 acoustic guitar. I am a sucker for the sound of a resonator guitar, and adding it to this acoustic version poses a fresh sound to the song.
Outside of this resonator’s unique sound, the look of the guitar is unreal… so clean.
Miller delivers incredible vocals, and the dialed-back melody lets the listener appreciate his talent behind the microphone. Those silky smooth vocals draw you in and keep you returning for more. His unique sound combines Texas country roots with flares of folk, blues, and alternative Americana sound, putting him in a league to appeal to a wide array of country music fans.
The catchy lyrics of “Highway Shoes” with the sounds of immaculately kept vintage guitars is a near-perfect combination.
While “Highway Shoes” is a killer performance, while you’re here, check out “A Feeling Called Lonesome.”
