It’s no secret that Cody Jinks has been lighting up the Texas country music scene for quite some time.

A legend in the independent country music world, the man has been in the game for 15 plus years now, and played in metal bands for years before that. With multiple Gold and Platinum records under his belt, he’s essentially drawn up the blueprint for how to be independent and successful in country music.

And with a new album on the way in November, he is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

However, he can’t avoid the fact that he’s 42 years young, he can’t outrun Father Time.

And I mean his eyesight.

Many of y’all know the pain of poor eyesight, whether it’s having a difficult time seeing at night, or even having a hard time reading your phone. Some folks are able to hold off as long as possible, and some of you have been wearing glasses since you were a kid, but eventually, it’ll catch up to you.

Most people need at least some sort of reading glasses by the time they are in their mid-forties.

With that being said, the eye doctor told Jinks that it’s time for him to get no line bifocals.

He recently made a hilarious joke about it at one of his concerts, telling the crowd:

“She was a nice little ol’ lady, she goes, ‘You’re gonna love these, did you get the no-lines bifocals?’

I said ‘yes ma’am I did.’

She goes ‘I wish I would’ve done that 20 years ago… and I know that you’re a young man, but I don’t want you to think that it’s a bad thing because you have to get bifocals.’

And I said ‘ma’am… I’m glad I’ve lived long enough to get f*cking bifocals.'”

Gotta appreciate the silver lining perspective… always stay grateful.

Never change, Mr. Jinks. Never change.
