Now that’s country.

George Strait burned down the stage during his show last night at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Not only was he pulling out new tunes, he also told the audience that his new music is on the way. He used the word “soon,” and I sure hope he means before the summer. I’m ready to blare The King while on a boat.

Before playing a new track called “Three Drinks Behind,” Strait confirmed to the audience that a new record was on the way. From the statement, it sounds like it is already completed and waiting for a launch date.

“We are going to do a few new things tonight. We’ve got a new record it’s called ‘Cowboys and Dreamers.’ It’s going to be coming out soon.”

We. Are. Ready. George.

While “Three Drinks Behind” was a certified twanger, another new track he pulled out stole the show. “Honky Tonk Hall Of Fame” featuring Chris Stapleton is IT. And there is no better time to debut the song than now, when Strait and Stapleton are on the road together.

The duo of Stapleton and Strait work so well together and hearing Stapleton put some Texas twang on his vocals is just what the doctor ordered.

The lyrics detail chasing your dreams and having them all come true when people start to know your name. Every musician hopes to become a legend and go down in history as one.

“Everybody’s going to know my name
And I’ll hang my straw behind the wall
At the Honky Tonk Hall of Fame.”

These two will be in the Honky Tonk Hall of Fame, so we can trust the words they are singing. This is the perfect video to fire up this Cinco de Mayo.

While you’re here, check out the other new single he debuted, “Three Drinks Behind.”
