Oh, he went there.
I haven’t watched the entire Roast of Tom Brady on Netflix yet, but from the clips I’ve seen, I’m definitely going to have to make time to watch the full thing.
The former NFL superstar QB Tom Brady took center stage tonight at the roast, featuring names like Brady’s former teammates Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski and Randy Moss, comedians like Kevin Hart and Jeff Ross, and even Brady’s former coach Bill Belichick taking their shots at Brady.
And it didn’t take long for the fireworks to start.
Comedian Jeff Ross was taking his turn at roasting the GOAT when he joked about Brady first being drafted by the New England Patriots:
“On the first day of training camp, that scrawny rookie famously walked into Robert Kraft’s office and said, ‘I’m the best decision your organization has ever made.
Would you like a massage?”
The joke was obviously a jab at Patriots owner Robert Kraft getting caught up in a prostitution scandal a few years ago, when he allegedly visited a Florida massage parlor for some…well, relief.
All of the charges against Kraft were eventually dropped, but apparently it’s still a sore spot for Brady.
As Ross was telling Kraft how much he loved him after the jab, Brady stood up and the microphones picked up what he said in Ross’s ear:
“Don’t say that shit again.”
But when former Patriots receiver Julian Edelman took his turn, he had the whole room in shock.
Edelman began by mentioning his former teammate (and ladies man) Rob Gronkowski:
“Everyone always asks me how big Gronk’s d*ck is.
Now don’t get me wrong, it gets the job done. But there was this other Patriots tight end. Now HE was hung.”
Holy…
For anyone who doesn’t get the joke, Edelman is referring to former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, who was convicted of murder before committing suicide in prison back in 2017.
And apparently Gronk wasn’t expecting the Hernandez reference, because it looked like he was in shock – as the whole crowd collectively gasped:
It wasn’t the only Aaron Hernandez reference at the roast though: Comedian Nikki Glaser also got in a joke while taking a jab at former Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss for not having a Super Bowl ring.
“Aaron Hernandez had a ring…around his neck.”
They definitely didn’t hold back…and I love it.
