It’s too early in the morning for this…

Joey Chestnut will once again look to be crowned champion of Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog-Eating Contest this afternoon (if the rain ever stops), and he’ll also look to break his own world record in the process.

The man put down 76 hot dogs in 10 minutes 2021, and won the world famous competition again last year in 2022. He’s won 7 straight years and 15 of the last 16 competitions… the most dominate athlete of all time? You could say so…

But that’s not why we’re here.

No, we’re here because once again, the internet remains undefeated in taking a simply disgusting display of human accomplishment and mashing it up with one of the greatest music artists to ever walk the face of the Earth.

I’m talking about Joey Chestnut’s record-setting hot dog performance set to the song “Hurt” by Johnny Cash.

It’s painfully disgusting, yet hauntingly beautiful.

I mean, you feel the pain in every single bite…

“Hurt” was originally written by Trent Reznor of the band Nine Inch Nails, however Cash covered it shortly before his death in 2003 for his iconic American Recordings.

After watching the video Reznor famously said “that song isn’t mine anymore.”
