Tooties getting a shoutout from the big stage.

Last night was a big day for hockey fans, but especially those in the Chicago area as the Blackhawks took Connor Bedard with the number one overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. The 17 year old phenom is coming across the Canadian border to the Windy City, where fans hope he will be the generational talent he’s believe to be and bring the franchise back to its former glory.

This year’s NHL Draft took place in a city where just about everything appears to happen these days: Nashville, Tennessee.

Music City has really been expanding its hosting capabilities over the years and is now a premier city to host big events, like the NFL Draft which ruined countless bachelorette parties a few years back…

Even with all of the downsides of the city, there’s no denying it’s a heck of a time to hang around there and plenty of NHL execs were roaming Broadway (even if they weren’t recognized) and now it appears that the players made sure they got in their fun as well.

Bill Guerin, the General Manager of the Minnesota Wild, gave a bit of a thank you speech to the city of Nashville before announcing their first round pick, with one bar in particular getting singled out…

“Also a great thank you to the city of Nashville, especially Toosties, for keeping this entire group well hydrated and entertained.”

Heck yes, the Minnesota boys found themselves a heck of a spot.

Sure, it’s not the same as when any number of country icons might have been gracing the stage on any given night, but let’s just be thankful he didn’t should FGL Bar or Jason Aldean’s…

Cheers to the Chicago Blackhawks, Minnesota Wild, and hockey in general.
