Henry Winkler, A.K.A. “The Fonz,” Can’t Stop Catching Rainbow Trout In Idaho

Henry Winkler is a national treasure.

The actor and comedian rose to fame when he played Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli on the beloved sitcom Happy Days in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Now, even 50 years later, people still recognize Winkler as “the Fonz.”

And even though many people think back to his first breakthrough performance when they see him, he’s gone on to play a number of iconic roles in TV and movies over the years.

Many probably remember him from his role in the Adam Sandler classic The Waterboy, while others might recall his hilarious performances in the cult-classic sitcom Arrested Development or the re-occurring character he played in NBC’s Parks and Recreation.

He most recently wrapped up a co-star role in HBO’s comedy-drama Barry, which actually won Winkler an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

Now that his run on that show has finished up, the 77-year-old has some free time, and it looks like he chose to spend it in the best way possible.

Winkler has been updating his social media account with countless pictures of impressive catches from his fishing trip to Idaho. It appears that he can’t stop catching trout, and based on his face in literally every picture, he could not be more ecstatic about it.

He got the trip kicked off showing us his equipment for his relaxing week-long fishing extravaganza:

“First minute of first day in Idaho! Excited.”

After showing off the rig that he would be utilizing on the trip, it has just been a non-stop flow of an incredibly happy Henry Winkler showing off his fish and taking in the surrounding Idaho landscape:

“First Cutty of the trip.”

“How lucky am I? Oh my goodness.”

“Now we’re cooking, nice brown!”

He shared a video instead of a picture on Tuesday, though it kind of matched up with what all the other pictures were doing: Winkler grinning ear to ear with a fish in hand:

“Good Tuesday afternoon.”

“Lucky me! Pretty brown.”

After a couple of good catches on Tuesday, Winkler got back out on the water and continued to rip lips and share them with the world:

“What a way to start this Wednesday!”

“Last beauty of the day. Thank you river.”

I love that he chose to thank the river for the fish. “The Fonz” seems to be eternally grateful for this getaway fishing trip, and the pictures that he’s shared has given me another item to add onto my bucket list: catch fish with Henry Winkler.

Apparently he’s pretty damn good at it:

“Mr. Brown wanted to see the rainbow.”

“Everyone should start their day with a rainbow!”

“It’s a rainbow too.”

And as we quickly approach July 4th, I thought I would save Winkler’s patriotic post for last. He was catching so many fish and enjoying the surrounding scenery of the river so much that he just simply posted this:

“America!”

God bless Henry Winkler.
