I can’t get enough of this one.

Brooks & Dunn covered the Rolling Stones classic “Honky Tonk Women” for the recent Stoned Cold Country tribute album, which also features awesome covers from artists like Koe Wetzel, Eric Church, Lainey Wilson, Ashley McBryde, Steve Earle, Marcus King and others you should check out too.

All in all, it’s already one of my favorite projects from 2023, and as a fan of both rock and country, I think most of the artists really nailed their fresh renditions of Stones standards.

But one that I haven’t been able to get out of my head is the aforementioned “Honky Tonk Women,” because it’s one of my personal favorites in their catalog.

Plus, with Ronnie’s unreal vocals, it’s truly perfection.

Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards while on vacation in Brazil, the song was originally released in the UK as non-album single in 1969, and then put out to America a week later, eventually reaching the #1 spot in both countries and becoming an all-time classic.

I mean, really, who doesn’t love “Honky Tonk Women”? The song or the actual thing, honestly, but I digress…

In fact, everyone loved it so much, that the band actually recorded a country version of it with some tweaked lyrics called “Country Honk” for their Let It Bleed album five months later.

Which stands to reason, because how are you gonna have a song with “honky tonk” in the title and not make a country version of it, too… even if you are one of the most iconic rock bands of all time.

Make sure you give this one a spin if you haven’t already… it’s so damn good:
