Parker McCollum Releases Music Video For Honky Tonk Heartbreaker, “Handle On You”

There ain’t nothin’ in the world like a good old fashioned honky tonk heartbreaker.

And Parker McCollum’s current single “Handle On You” was one of my favorites released in 2022, as he finds himself drinking to get over a heartbreak and trying to get a handle on his emotions through the bottom of a bottle, knowing that he shouldn’t be drinking so much but, “I tell myself that I should quit but I don’t listen to drunks.”

A co-write by Parker and Monty Criswell, it’s likely that the song will be included in Parker’s forthcoming, still unofficially announced studio album, which he says is dropping in May.

And today, he released a brand new music video to go along with it, which was partially filmed during his sold out hometown show of 20,000 people in the Woodlands, Texas.

The other half was filmed at his family ranch in east Texas, as you see him going back and forth from driving around the farm to playing for thousands of screaming fans.

Parker says it was the perfect opportunity to showcase both the thing he loves doing the most and the place that’s most important to him:

“Shot half of the video at a sold out show in my hometown – 20,000 people at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Shot the other half at our Family Ranch in East Texas.

Seemed like the perfect opportunity to get to come home and showcase, on-camera, the place I love the most while doing what I love to do the most.

I love this song and wrote it with my buddy Monty Chriswell and I feel like we really kind of went in a different direction with it from my other songs.”

The end of the video also features an appearance from his wife, Hallie Ray. Parker added that he wanted to give fans a look into his real life in shooting the music video this way:

“Putting this thing on film and giving the viewers a look into my life at home and on the road was an important visual for me to have to go along with the track.

So, in short, I love every bit of it and hope the fans dig it. Can’t wait for it to be out!”

Currently, “Handle On You” is currently sitting in the Top 15 at country radio.

“Absolutely wild filming this video. No stunt men, no special effects. Just honest and real. Handle On You music video is out now.”
