It’s BACK.
It’s safe to say the first version of Morgan Wallen‘s Sand In My Boots Festival was a massive success in 2025. The festival, which took place in at the beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama, as a one year takeover of Hangout Fest, sold out almost instantly when it went on sale with a lineup featuring Wallen himself, Post Malone, Brooks & Dunn and HARDY, as well as a wide range of artists from different genres including Riley Green, Wiz Khalifa, T-Pain, Chase Rice, 49 Winchester, and Three 6 Mafia.
Afterwards, the event drew high praise from the city. Gulf Shores Mayor Robert Craft even made it clear that he expected future versions of Hangout Fest to match the standard set by Sand In My Boots Festival going forward.
With the success of the festival and the praise from city officials, it seemed like all parties involved would want to run it back in 2026; however, that was not the case.
Despite the “Chasin’ You” singer saying that they would try to do it again sometime, Wallen’s Sand In My Boots Festival and Hangout Fest in general were cancelled in 2026. In fact, Mayor Craft ended up placing the blame on festival organizers, saying they waited too long to book the caliber of acts they needed.
And after Hangout Fest 2026 was canceled, Sand In My Boots Festival made clear that there was never any plan for them to return next year – though they do plan on running it back at some point in the future. In a statement posted to their Instagram back in December 2025, the festival said the cancelation of Hangout Fest had “nothing to do” with them.
Though 2026 was a wash for the festival, it became more than apparent that it was looking to return in a big way in 2027. In October, Mayor Craft would officially announce the return of Sand In My Boots to Gulf Shores in 2027 during a press conference, with the official Sand In My Boots social media accounts further confirming its return the same day on October 19th.
After the festival officially set their return date for May 21-23, 2027, at the beaches of Gulf Shore over the weekend, this morning, they readied their star-studded lineup. Spoiler alert: it’s jam-packed.
On the country side of things, you have an incredibly diverse lineup consisting of the likes of Wallen himself, Ella Langley, Gavin Adcock, Koe Wetzel, Midland, Cole Swindell, Hudson Westbrook, Vincent Mason, Corey Kent, Avery Anna, Kameron Marlowe, Kashus Culpepper, Carter Faith, Kenny Whitmire and many more.
As for rap, like 2025, Wallen and Co. are calling on a plethora of 2000s stars such as Nelly, Flo Rida, Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Jucy J, Project Pat and the Ying Yang Twins. Additionally, he’s calling upon some electronic groups like Kygo, Empire Of The Sun and Girl Talk.
Finally, for rock, Sand In My Boots features both Kings of Leon, who have made themselves familiar with the genre lately with their two collaborations with Zach Bryan in 2025, as well as Third Eye Blind.
Discussing Sand In My Boot fest’s return, Wallen would note that he and his team are trying their best to “elevate the overall experience” for fans, teasing new concepts for the stage in 2027.
“One thing I’m looking forward to the most about bringing Sand In My Boots Festival back is being able to have new concepts on stage and trying to elevate the experience overall for the fans, myself and other artists on the bill. I think it’s going to be really top-notch and we’re going to try to do it even better this time.”
Presale registration is active right now, with passes going on sale this Friday, November 6th, at 10 a.m. CT. General admission for the festival’s three days starts at $676.87, including taxes and fees, with deluxe upgrades such as Party Pit, VIP, Super VIP, and “Livin’ The Dream” being available. Additionally, hotel packages will be available as well.
