Shania Twain is back with another new single.
Her forthcoming sixth studio album Queen of Me is slated to drop next month on February 3rd, and so far, she’s put out two songs from the tracklist, “Waking Up Dreaming” and “Last Day of Summer.”
And today, she dropped the third single, a super pop-sounding song called “Giddy Up!” which already has a full dance routine to go along with it.
She previously noted that this new project was about empowering herself and others, saying in part:
“I am unbelievably excited to announce ‘Queen Of Me’ – the new album and tour. These days, I’m feeling very comfortable in my own skin – and I think this album reflects that musically.
Life is short and I want to be uplifted, colorful, unapologetic and empowered.
I want to carry a clear message, particularly as a woman, to always remember my power and I hope the songs are a reminder to you, of that same power inside you!”
While to me, this new song “Giddy Up!” feels a little bit more like trying to create a viral social media moment than anything else, with the choreographed dance and all, Shania has certainly earned the right to do whatever she wants in her career and try new things if that’s what she’s feeling.
In addition to the new album, her extensive her Queen of Me world tour is set to kickoff in April and will run through mid November, with Hailey Whitters, Breland, Lindsay Ell, Kelsea Ballerini, Mickey Guyton, Priscilla Block and Robyn Ottolini will rotating on different dates as openers.
