Carrie Underwood knows how to rock.
At a show on the first stop of her Denim & Rhinestones tour in Greenville, South Carolina, over the weekend, she gave a rousing performance of Guns N’ Roses hit “Welcome to the Jungle.”
Back over the Summer, she brought out frontman Axl Rose for a performance of “Sweet Child Of Mine” and “Paradise City” during her headlining set at Stagecoach, and also surprised fans at one of their shows in London to sing with the whole band.
Though Carrie definitely grew up singing gospel hymns in church, and probably seems like the last country artist who could rock this hard, she’s actually a huge rock and roll fan and I love seeing this side of her musical taste.
“Welcome to the Jungle” was included on Guns N’ Roses 1987 debut album Appetite for Destruction, and it was released as the second single in the UK in 1987. They rereleased it the following year, where it peaked at #7 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Who knows, maybe Axl Rose will crash one of Carrie’s shows on this tour… I think we need a duet of this one, too:
