Cody Johnson Cancels Three Shows This Weekend “Due To Illness”

Cody Johnson country music

Cody Johnson is taking an unforeseen break from the road this weekend.

His team just announced that he’ll unfortunately have to cancel three different shows that were scheduled for this weekend “due to illness.”

He was scheduled to play at the state fair of West Virginia in Lewisburg, West Virginia tomorrow night, in addition to two sold out shows in Richmond, Virginia at Virginia Credit Union Live! on Friday night, and 1st Summit Arena in Johnston, Pennsylvania on Saturday night.

While some in the comments were speculating it was COVID-related, his team did not confirm the exact reason or what the illness was.

Cody underwent a five-hour neck surgery last year, and also had to go on vocal rest for a couple weeks during the summer of 2021, though it’s unclear if any of that has to do with these cancellations.

They added that they hope to reschedule the three shows as soon as possible in the respective markets, and you can read the entire statement here:

“Regrettably, the Cody Johnson concerts scheduled for this Thursday, Friday & Saturday are unable to go on as originally planned due to illness.

We understand the inconvenience this causes with travel, plans and with purchased tickets, and we apologize for this unforeseen circumstance.

We very much appreciate your understanding and patience, and we will make every attempt to get back to these markets to make up the dates as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued support. Please be on the lookout for an email from your original point of purchase regarding your tickets for these shows.”

Get well soon, Cody.
