Famed actor Paul Sorvino has passed away at the age of 83, according to CNN.

Most notable for his role as mob boss in Goodfellas, and his early stint in Law & Order, Sorvino passed away due to natural causes with his wife Dee Dee by his side.

She issued a statement through Sorvino’s publicist Roger Neal, saying:

“Our hearts are broken, there will never be another Paul Sorvino.”

The Brooklyn, New York native earned a Tony nomination for his role in That Championship Season, and also appeared in movies like Nixon, Dick Tracy, Reds, and The Rocketeer.

Sorvino originally attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy with aspirations of becoming an opera singer, before he made his Broadway debut in the mid-’60s.

The first movie he appeared in was Where’s Poppa, and acted alongside Al Pacino in The Pacific Needle Park.

Most known for his role in Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas as Paulie Cicero, and his brief stint in Law & Order, it’s easy to see that the man made a massive imprint on the film industry forever.

He is survived by his wife and three children, including actress Mira Sorvino, and five grandchildren.

Mira wrote on Twitter:

“My heart is rent asunder- a life of love and joy and wisdom with him is over. He was the most wonderful father. I love him so much. I’m send you love in the stars Dad as you ascend.”
