49 Winchester Debut Open Road Anthem, “All I Need”

Joshua Black Wilkins

49 Winchester is in a league of their own.

Known for what they call “Appalachian Soul,” the group based out of Russell County, Virginia incorporates a unique mixture of southern rock, folk, roots rock, country, and just about anything else you can imagine, and it’s easy to see why they’re quickly becoming one of the premier groups out of the independent music scene.

As they gear up to drop their 4th career album, Fortune Favors the Bold, they’ve dropped some stellar lead singles with “Annabel,” “Russell County Line,” and “Damn Darlin’.”

Frontman Isaac Gibson weighed in on the new project:

“Everything has to be built. And very few people are going to achieve success overnight.

We didn’t start out as a bunch of hot shot pickers out of Nashville. We started out on the ground floor… very basic songwriting and instrumentation.

But we kept working at it, always progressing in what we wanted to do and how we wanted to sound… each song better than the previous one, the show this evening better than last night.”

With that being said, they’ve added their fourth single from the record today, titled “All I Need.”

The feel good song is all about being content, as front man Isaac Gibson, with his gritty vocals, lists all of the simple things in life that many of us often take for granted, and how at the end of the day, the road has all he needs.

Set your calendars for May 13th, because I’m gonna bet the house this will be a top album of 2022 by the time December rolls around.

In addition to the new album, the fellas are in for a big year opening shows for Whiskey Myers on the Tornillo Tour, as well as stops at Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion, SXSW Music Festival, Merlefest, Floydfest, Red Wing Roots Music Fest, and the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion.
