Country music has always been full of good ol’ cheatin’ songs – all the way back to classics like “Your Cheatin’ Heart” by Hank Williams.
And for almost as long as there have been cheating songs, there have been songs from the women ready to throw down with some homewreckers.
From Loretta Lynn’s “You Ain’t Woman Enough To Take My Man” to Reba’s “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia,” and pretty much Miranda Lambert’s entire catalog, the women of country have long been warning other women that they better not fuck with their man.
And Hannah Dasher‘s another one that you’re probably not gonna want to mess with.
In her unreleased song “I’m Gonna Whoop Your Redneck Ass,” Hannah delivers a pretty straightforward message to the homewrecker who’s been messing with her man:
“I’m gonna whoop your redneck ass
Take you out like a piece of white trash
Mama raised me with a little more class
But I’m gonna whoop your redneck ass”
And it only gets better from there, as Hannah’s trademark sass comes out in the not-so-thinly-veiled threats:
“Go find yourself some self control
He wouldn’t touch you with a 10-foot pole
Take my advice and back it on up
There’s a name for girls like you, you slut”
Brutal.
Hannah said that she wrote the song after her ex left her for a “blonde-headed heifer that looked kinda like a pug nose puppy”:
“I wrote this one about the woman that my ex left me for. Lord he regrets that, he tells me every day. But I just hit ignore.
I mean she’s so trashy, you wouldn’t wanna touch her with a hazmat suit on.”
And while Hannah’s been performing the song at live shows for awhile now, unfortunately we haven’t gotten a studio version yet.
But after the release of her EP The Half Record last year, we’re hopefully getting close to finally getting “The Whole Record” at some point in 2022 (maybe after she gets off tour with Reba).
Whenever we finally get that new record though, I really hope this one’s on it.
